
Today we’re making harvest burgers — the perfect cozy burger for that in-between season when summer cookouts are still hanging on, but fall is starting to sneak in.
These burgers are stacked on soft brioche buns with sharp cheddar, crispy bacon, sweet apple cider caramelized onions, and a sweet-and-tangy apple barbecue sauce that ties everything together. Serve them with crispy baked sweet potato fries for the perfect salty-sweet fall dinner.

Cozy Harvest Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 to 1 1/2 pounds ground beef depending on how big you want your burgers!
- 8 slices cooked bacon
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 brioche buns
Cider BBQ Sauce
- 2 TBSP butter
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 2 TBSP apple cider vinegar
- 1 TBSP Dijon mustard
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1 TBSP brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider
Caramelized Onions
- 2 TBSP butter
- 1 large onion, sliced thin
- 1/4 cup apple cider
Instructions
- Combine all the sauce ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, and cook until thickened, about 8-10 minutes.
- Melt 2 TBSP butter in a pan over low heat, and add in the onions. Cook, stirring ocassionally, or until soft and golden. Stir in the apple cider, and reduce for about 3-5 minutes, or until thickened.
- Cook your burgers to your liking, melt a slice of cheddar on each and then we build!
- Spoon some BBQ sauce on the bottom bun, top with the burger patty and cheese, the bacon, the caramelized onions, and some more sauce.
