Ingredients

  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup finely diced pickles
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 6 slices of American cheese (you could also use 1 cup shredded cheddar)
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • oil, for frying
  • The Secret Sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2 Tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons finely diced pickles

Directions

Cook the ground beef and onions in a skillet over medium heat with a little bit of oil until the onions are soft and translucent, and the beef is browned. Drain off any grease and add the mixture to a large bowl. Add in the pickles, Worcestershire, ketchup, and mustard. Stir to combine. Next, lay out a wonton wrapper and layer about 1/2 slice of the cheese in the center. Add about 1/4 cup of the beef mixture on top. Use water on the edges of the wrapper to help it seal, and roll it up. Keep a damp towel on top of the wonton wrappers and rolls to keep them from drying out. Meanwhile, heat oil in a pot to 375 degrees F. Fry the rolls for about 2-3 minutes until they are golden brown. Place on a wire rack to drain and cool slightly. To make the sauce, combine the mayo, ketchup and pickles in a bowl. Dip the spring rolls in, and enjoy!
