
Today we are making my Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies! Like little mini red velvet cakes, soft, fluffy, and coated in sweet powdered sugar.


Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons red food coloring
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons milk
- 2 cups flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, cream together the butter and sugars. Add in the eggs, and scrape the bottom and sides of the bowl.
- Stir in the vanilla, lemon juice, red food coloring, and milk.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Slowly pour into mixer and stir until combined.
- Chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll the dough into 1 1/2-2 inch balls, and roll in powdered sugar. Place on parchment lined baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
- Bake about 12 minutes, or until slightly crispy on the edges. Cool on pan 5 minutes before moving to a wire rack to cool.
