Allow the steaks to sit at room temperature 30 minutes before cooking.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Heat oil in a large cast iron pan or oven safe skillet for 2-3 minutes.
Cook the filets for 2-3 minutes. Flip, and place a pat of butter on top of each steak. Add herbs and garlic to the pan. Spoon the melted sauce on top of the steaks a few times, and place pan in oven for 2-6 minutes depending on desired doneness. (Medium is 140-145 degrees internal temp).
