Chocolate Wacky Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Chocolate Frosting

  • 3 TBSP butter, softened
  • 3 TBSP cocoa
  • 1 TBSP honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 3 TBSP heavy cream

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, salt, and baking soda.
  • Add in the vanilla, vinegar, vegetable oil, and water. Stir until combined.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool completely in pan on a wire rack.
  • To make the frosting: Combine the butter, cocoa, honey, vanilla, and confectioners sugar in a bowl. Slowly add in the heavy cream, using a hand mixer to whip it together.
  • Spread onto cooled cake.
